Job Description

You will be responsible for the layout, design, and development of Body in White (BIW) Parts, Hood, Trunk-Lid, Automotive Glasses, Sunroof, Plastic Parts, Hood Latch, Fuel Lid Mechanism, Cables, etc. Your experience may vary among these areas and should include the preparation of 3D models and drawings using software, preferably Unigraphics. Basic knowledge of Sheet Metal Forming/Joining process and Plastic Parts process is required, including working with dies, tools, molds, fixtures, and suppliers. Your role will involve Parts Concept Thinking, Design & Development of BIW Parts, Vehicle Front or Rear Facia, Glasses, NVH Parts, etc. You will be responsible for checking feasibility with respect to regulations, manufacturability, and assembly. Engaging with the CAE team, taking countermeasures, confirming testing performance, resolving issues, and managing weight & cost will be crucial. Desirable skills include Project Management and proficiency in CAD software, preferably Unigraphics. Understanding Automotive Regulations and considerations in BIW Development, knowledge of Sheet Metal & Plastic Parts manufacturing processes, tooling, and managing activity schedules are key technical competencies. In terms of behavioral competencies, you should possess strong communication skills, be a team player, coordinate effectively with related Engineering, Quality, and Purchasing functions, adhere to systems & processes, work independently on a day-to-day basis, and thoroughly check your own output. The educational requirement for this role is a B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering. An additional technical qualification such as an M.Tech is acceptable with relevant work experience.,
