Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Category manager / asst manager. This role will be pivotal in bridging product development, sourcing, packaging, and marketing to ensure timely execution of merchandise strategies, vendor coordination, and category innovation. The ideal candidate will have a background in textiles and/or apparel, a sharp eye for market trends, and excellent project management and communication skills. Key Responsibilities: Merchandising & Inventory Planning: Develop and execute merchandising strategies aligned with product roadmap and inventory targets. Plan and coordinate production requirements with internal teams for timely product availability. Monitor and manage stock levels, reorders, and replenishments for various SKUs. Sourcing & Procurement: Identify and onboard sourcing partners for product and packaging components. Coordinate with external vendors to procure high-quality trims, textiles, and finished goods. Ensure sourcing aligns with product cost, lead time, and quality objectives. Product & Packaging Development: Work closely with the product development team to conceptualize and execute new product ideas. Collaborate with the marketing and communication team to develop compelling product packaging and presentation. Manage vendor communication for packaging development, sampling, and final execution. Oversee packaging innovation projects and ensure alignment with brand identity. Market & Trend Analysis: Stay updated on industry trends, category innovations, and consumer preferences in the baby and kids segment. Analyze competitor assortments and market dynamics to propose new product ideas. Assist in brainstorming and strategic planning sessions with cross-functional teams. Supplier & Stakeholder Management: Act as the key point of contact for day-to-day supplier communication and coordination. Maintain strong relationships with vendors, ensuring timely deliveries and resolution of issues. Collaborate with internal departments including product, design, logistics, and marketing for seamless execution. Required Skills & Qualifications: Bachelors or Master’s degree in Textiles, Fashion Merchandising, Product Management, or related field. 3–6 years of relevant experience in merchandising, sourcing, or product development, preferably in textiles or apparel. Strong knowledge of production processes, textile sourcing, trims, and packaging. Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong communication skills in English (verbal and written). Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with ERP systems is a plus. A keen eye for detail and design; interest in baby and kids product categories. Proactive and collaborative approach with the ability to coordinate across departments and with external partners.
