JOB DESCRIPTION – MEP SITE ENGINEER (Fresher)

Position: MEP Site Engineer
Experience: Fresher (0–1 Year)
Department: Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP)
Location: Ashok Nagar, Chennai
Reporting To: Project Manager / Senior MEP Engineer

Role Overview

The MEP Site Engineer (Fresher) will support the execution, supervision, and coordination of all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing works at the project site. The role involves assisting senior engineers, ensuring quality standards, and learning project processes while contributing to smooth on-site operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Site Execution & Supervision

• Assist in supervising MEP installation works (HVAC, electrical wiring, lighting, plumbing, fire-fighting systems, etc.)
• Monitor daily site activities and ensure work is progressing as per drawings and specifications.
• Support coordination between MEP subcontractors and civil teams.
• Ensure safety practices are followed on-site.

2. Technical Support

• Review and understand technical drawings, BOQs, and specifications.
• Support in material inspection, quantity verification, and quality checks.
• Assist in identifying technical issues and reporting them to seniors for resolution.

3. Coordination & Communication

• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and site teams for smooth work execution.
• Attend on-site meetings and prepare daily/weekly progress reports.
• Communicate project updates to senior engineers.

4. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain site logs, checklists, inspection reports, and material records.
• Prepare documents related to testing & commissioning activities.
• Track material consumption and site progress.

5. Learning & Development

• Gain knowledge about codes, standards, and MEP practices.
• Participate in on-the-job training and learn project management skills.
• Support in continuous improvement of on-site processes.

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering.
• Basic understanding of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Ability to read drawings (MEP layouts, schematics, etc.).
• Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work on construction sites and learn.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD / MS Office is an added advantage.

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
