Medical Trainer

Job Title: Nurse Trainer Department: Clinical Training / Nursing Location: Chennai Company: Portea Medical Reporting To: Regional Head Operations Job Purpose: To enhance clinical excellence by training and up skilling nurses and caregivers in alignment with Portea’s home healthcare standards, protocols, and service quality expectations. Key Responsibilities: Training & Development: Conduct on boarding and induction training for newly hired nurses and nursing attendants. Deliver periodic clinical training on medical procedures, nursing protocols, infection control, emergency response, and patient care standards. Up skill field nursing staff through continuous education programs, refresher modules, and skill labs. Quality & Compliance: Monitor adherence to clinical guidelines, ethical practices, and regulatory norms. Conduct assessments to evaluate nurse competencies and identify training needs. Ensure compliance with NABH and internal audit protocols related to nursing care. Curriculum Development: Develop customized training content, SOPs, and clinical handbooks aligned with Portea’s services. Collaborate with medical teams to update content as per latest guidelines and treatment approaches. Performance Monitoring: Maintain training records, reports, and feedback logs. Support performance evaluations of nurses by providing insights on skills and knowledge levels. Mentoring & Coaching: Provide on-field guidance to nurses during home visits as needed. Foster a culture of learning and professional growth within the nursing team. Key Skills Required: Strong clinical knowledge in general nursing, geriatrics, palliative care, ICU/CCU Hands-on experience with IM, IV, SC injections, catheterization, wound dressing, and medical device usage Excellent communication and teaching skills Leadership and team motivation capabilities Knowledge of adult learning principles and training techniques Eligibility Criteria: Education: GNM / B.Sc Nursing (Mandatory) Certification: Must be a Registered Nurse under the State Nursing Council Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of clinical experience; 1+ years in training or mentoring role preferred Language: Proficiency in English and regional languages (Tamil / Kannada / Telugu, depending on location) Why Join Portea Medical?
