Job Description: Medical Intern (Data Annotation & Clinical Curation) Company: Akrys AI Healthcare Pvt Ltd Location: Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana (Remote/On-site options available) Reporting To: Project Manager / Senior Medical Data Scientist Role Summary: Medical Interns at Akrys AI Healthcare will play a critical role in annotating medical data, curating clinical rules, structuring diagnostic flowcharts, standardizing guidelines, and refining phonetic correction. This position is ideal for medical students or recent graduates passionate about clinical informatics, AI-driven diagnostics, and digital health transformation. Key Responsibilities: 1. Annotation of Medical Data: o Accurately annotate clinical notes, patient histories, radiological reports, and lab findings for AI model training. o Ensure data is structured for optimal machine learning efficiency and accuracy. o Collaborate with the Data Science team to identify gaps or inconsistencies in annotated data. 2. Curation of Clinical Rules: o Assist in creating and validating clinical decision support rules based on evidence-based guidelines. o Contribute to the development of automated triggers for early diagnosis and risk stratification. o Map clinical rules to diagnostic criteria for streamlined model training. 3. Critical Question Checklist Development: o Develop structured checklists for differential diagnosis, history-taking, and follow-up recommendations. o Ensure questions are clinically relevant, unambiguous, and follow standard medical protocols. 4. Guidelines Standardization: o Work with SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) to ensure clinical guidelines are current and region-specific. o Support the integration of ICMR, WHO, and CDC guidelines into AI diagnostic pathways. o Regularly update guidelines based on new evidence or clinical feedback. 5. Diagnostic Flowchart Structuring: o Assist in creating intuitive, decision-based flowcharts for various medical conditions. o Map symptoms, investigations, differential diagnoses, and next-step actions clearly. o Validate flowcharts against clinical cases to ensure reliability. 6. Phonetic Correction for MTI (Mother Tongue Interference): o Work with the Speech-to-Text (STT) team to correct phonetic errors commonly found in MTI scenarios. o Create correction libraries for major Indian languages to enhance model accuracy. Qualifications: • MBBS final year students or recent graduates. • Strong understanding of clinical terminology and medical workflows. • Excellent attention to detail and a structured approach to medical data annotation. • Familiarity with medical guidelines (ICMR, WHO) and clinical decision-making. • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team. Preferred Skills: • Exposure to digital health platforms or AI-based diagnostic tools. • Knowledge of regional languages for phonetic correction (Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Tamil). • Experience in clinical research or data annotation is a plus.
