Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop

  mechanical assemblies, enclosures, and structural components

  from concept to production.
• Perform

  structural calculations, weight distribution, and center of gravity assessments

  to ensure design performance.
• Select appropriate

  materials and finishes

  (e.g., aluminum alloys, carbon fiber, polymers, composites) based on functional and manufacturing requirements.
• Design and specify

  fixtures, fittings, fasteners, and mounting solutions

  .
• Create and maintain detailed

  CAD models and technical drawings

  using SolidWorks, OnShape, or similar 3D CAD tools.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (electronics, systems, manufacturing) to ensure seamless product integration.
• Optimize designs for

  prototyping, 3D printing, and fabrication

  processes.
• Deliver well-finished, production-ready designs that balance form, function, and manufacturability

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in

  Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline

  .
• Solid foundation in

  mechanical design principles

  — including load analysis, tolerance design, and mechanical assemblies.
• Hands-on experience with

  SolidWorks, AutoDesk Fusion, OnShape, or equivalent CAD software

  .
• Strong understanding of

  materials, properties, and fabrication methods

  (metal, composites, polymers).
• Knowledge of

  structural analysis and centre of gravity considerations

  .
• Familiarity with

  fixtures, fasteners, and mechanical integration techniques

  .
• Experience in taking designs from

  concept through prototyping and into production

  .
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce

  aesthetically refined, fully finished mechanical designs

  .

Nice to Have

• Experience with

  FEA simulations or lightweight structural design

  .
• Exposure to

  3D printing, CNC machining, or small-batch fabrication

  .
• Understanding of

  mechatronic systems

  (integration of mechanical and electronic subsystems).
• A portfolio demonstrating

  end-to-end product design projects
