Mechatronics / CAD Design Engineer 📍 Location: Mumbai About the Role We’re looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Mechatronics / CAD Design Engineer to lead the mechanical design and development of precision-engineered systems and products. You will take concepts from initial sketches through to 3D CAD models, prototypes, and production-ready designs — ensuring structural integrity, functionality, and manufacturability. Key Responsibilities Design and develop mechanical assemblies, enclosures, and structural components from concept to production. Perform structural calculations, weight distribution, and center of gravity assessments to ensure design performance. Select appropriate materials and finishes (e.g., aluminum alloys, carbon fiber, polymers, composites) based on functional and manufacturing requirements. Design and specify fixtures, fittings, fasteners, and mounting solutions . Create and maintain detailed CAD models and technical drawings using SolidWorks, OnShape, or similar 3D CAD tools. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (electronics, systems, manufacturing) to ensure seamless product integration. Optimize designs for prototyping, 3D printing, and fabrication processes. Deliver well-finished, production-ready designs that balance form, function, and manufacturability Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline . Solid foundation in mechanical design principles — including load analysis, tolerance design, and mechanical assemblies. Hands-on experience with SolidWorks, AutoDesk Fusion, OnShape, or equivalent CAD software . Strong understanding of materials, properties, and fabrication methods (metal, composites, polymers). Knowledge of structural analysis and centre of gravity considerations . Familiarity with fixtures, fasteners, and mechanical integration techniques . Experience in taking designs from concept through prototyping and into production . Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce aesthetically refined, fully finished mechanical designs . Nice to Have Experience with FEA simulations or lightweight structural design . Exposure to 3D printing, CNC machining, or small-batch fabrication . Understanding of mechatronic systems (integration of mechanical and electronic subsystems). A portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design projects
