Job Description

As a Mechanical Engineer with a background in 3D printing and medical devices, you will be joining Prayasta, a company established in 2017 in Bangalore with a unique approach to tailoring implants to individual requirements rather than adhering to standard sizes. Prayasta has developed a cutting-edge 3D printer capable of producing "implant-grade" silicone, enabling the creation of a diverse range of soft-tissue implants. The company has garnered support from various grants and accolades, including patents in both India and the USA for its innovative technology. Your role at Prayasta will involve designing and developing intricate 3D models for medical device components and systems. You will utilize advanced 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Creo to create detailed designs. Additionally, you will be responsible for prototyping using additive manufacturing technologies, conducting simulations and analysis to validate designs, ensuring regulatory compliance with medical device standards and regulations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams for seamless integration of mechanical designs with other system components. Key Responsibilities: - Utilize 3D CAD software to design detailed models of medical device components - Create prototypes using additive manufacturing technologies and conduct simulations for testing - Ensure compliance with medical device regulations and standards - Maintain detailed design documentation and collaborate with cross-functional teams - Manage design projects from concept to production - Identify and implement improvements in design processes - Provide technical support to customers related to mechanical design of medical devices Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred - 3-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering with a focus on 3D modeling and medical device development - Proficiency in 3D CAD software and simulation tools - Strong understanding of medical device regulations and standards - Excellent problem-solving and communication skills - Ability to work effectively in a team environment with attention to detail Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with medical device risk management and usability engineering - Familiarity with additive manufacturing technologies and materials - Project management and leadership experience - Certification in Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing Benefits: - Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses - Professional development opportunities Date of Joining: Immediate Location/Place of Work: - Primarily in Vidyaranyapura & Mathikere, Bengaluru - Open to travel within or outside Bengaluru for work - Willingness to work in rotational day/night shifts based on project requirements How to Apply: Interested candidates should send their detailed CV, cover letter, and portfolio of relevant projects to hr@prayasta.com at the earliest.
