Sumitomo SHI SFW is seeking a dynamic person for the position of Mechanical Discipline Engineer to join our Joint Venture operations with ISGEC Heavy engineering in Noida, India.

Position: Mechanical Discipline Engineer

Qualification: B.E / B.Tech (Mechanical Engineering)

Experience: Minimum 10 years in Boilers

Functional Reporting: Chief Engineer Mechanical Design ISGEC SFW

Operational Reporting: Project Engineering Manager / Mechanical Discipline Engineer - SFW

Main Thrust: Effective coordination and managing engineering and design work in mechanical discipline area for the assigned project to achieve the time schedule, quality and budget. Forecast and mitigate project risk. Close monitoring and reporting progress of work & deliverables, managing all inputs, interfaces, changes.

Key Functions & Tasks:

• Responsible for Engineering and Design deliverable in mechanical design area as a complete discipline that includes all Pressure part, non-pressure parts and piping.
• Understanding project scope, technical requirements of customer
• Preparing Engineering and Design deliverable list, work plan applicable to the project scope
• Resource planning for project design work scope and getting allocation through team leads.
• Managing availability of all necessary design inputs through coordination and follow-ups
• Maintaining Time schedule for mechanical design area deliverables
• Continuous follow-up on design work progress in coordination with respective team leads.
• Organizing weekly progress review meetings, maintaining meeting memos, follow-up actions
• Publishing weekly progress reports, Monthly work plan updates for progress, mitigating delays
• Material quantity updates, controlling within budgeted quantities, forecast overrun if any
• Attending Customer / Consultant queries regarding mechanical design areas
• Organizing Design reviews, maintain review records, follow-up actions
• Ensuring all workflow process compliances, Maintaining ISO objective performance analysis.
• Handling customer feedback, lessons learnt on project through respective team leads,
• Technical support to procurement, fabrication and construction in coordination with respective team leads.
• Technical support for Quality control workshop and site in coordination with respective team leads.
• Disposal of shop and site feedback in coordination with respective team leads.
• Handling NCR, Supplier change requests through team leads in mechanical design areas
