Design and develop complete
special purpose machines (SPMs), automation systems
, or mechanical equipment from concept to production stage.
Translate customer/functional requirements into mechanical design concepts and layout plans.
Develop 3D models, assemblies, and detailed 2D drawings using CAD software like
Solid Edge, SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD
.
Select appropriate materials, actuators, mechanical systems, and components (gears, bearings, guides, cylinders, etc.).
Conduct design feasibility checks,
mechanical calculations
, and tolerance analysis.
Perform
stress analysis, motion simulation, and FEA
to validate the mechanical design.
Prepare
Bill of Materials (BOMs), part lists, assembly guides
, and manufacturing documentation.
Coordinate with procurement, manufacturing, and assembly teams to ensure design accuracy in real-world production.
Support
prototype development, testing, debugging, and modifications
based on trial results.
Ensure manufacturability and compliance with
engineering standards
and customer specifications.
Participate in
design reviews, technical discussions
, and continuous product improvement.

Educational Qualification:

Bachelor’s degree in
Mechanical Engineering
or related discipline.

Required Skills & Experience:

5 to 12 years of
hands-on experience in machine design
– including mechanisms, automation components, and assemblies.
Strong knowledge of
mechanical components, linear systems, pneumatics, gear systems, and sheet metal design
.
Proficiency in CAD tools like
SolidWorks, Solid Edge, Inventor, or AutoCAD
.
Experience with
FEA tools
(ANSYS, SolidWorks Simulation) is a plus.
Exposure to
manufacturing techniques
(machining, welding, fabrication, and assembly).
Familiarity with
GD&T, tolerance stack-up, DFMA
practices.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to independently manage full-cycle mechanical design projects.
