Mechanical Design Engineer- Humanoid Robotics

Our mission is to create a robot that feels less like a device and more like a living, empathetic entity. We're looking for a skilled and driven Mechanical Engineer to be a foundational member of our team, responsible for supporting the development of series of companion robots from desktop version to full bionic humanoid robots. 

Your Mission, Your Impact

As a Mechanical Engineer on our small, agile team, you will be a key player in bringing the Ria robot to life. You'll work at the intersection of aesthetics and engineering, tackling complex challenges to build a robot that is both beautiful and functional. You'll be directly responsible for:

• Supporting Ria's Development:

  Work closely with our lead designers to refine and implement the mechanical aspects of the Ria robot, ensuring that the design intent is preserved throughout the engineering process.

• Prototyping & Iteration:

  Build, assemble, and test hardware prototypes, conducting static analysis and iterating on designs based on real-world feedback to ensure durability, efficiency, and safety.

• Engineering for Emotion:

  Support the design of the intricate internal mechanisms and linkages that create subtle, life-like body language and expressions.

• Optimizing for Manufacturing:

  Your designs will be the blueprint for production. You will create detailed manufacturing drawings and documentation for processes like CNC machining, 3D printing, and sheet metal fabrication.

• Collaborating on a Vision:

  Work closely with our AI, hardware, and product design teams to integrate vision systems, electronics, and motors seamlessly, ensuring a cohesive and highly optimized final product.

The Skills You Bring

This role is for a hands-on engineer with a hacker's mindset and a passion for craftsmanship. We're looking for a person who can solve complex problems and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience:

  2-3 years of proven experience in mechanical design, ideally in robotics, consumer electronics, or a related field.

• CAD Expertise:

  Advanced proficiency in

  Fusion 360 and SolidWorks

  is essential.

• Form & Function:

  Strong capabilities in surface and form modeling, with an eye for creating aesthetically pleasing yet manufacturable designs.

• Manufacturing Know-How:

  Thorough understanding of manufacturing documentation (drawings, BOMs) and processes, with a passion for optimizing designs for production.

• Kinematic Fundamentals:

  A solid grasp of

  kinematics

  to design and analyze the robot's motion systems.

• Interdisciplinary Communication:

  You understand basic electronics and software principles, enabling you to effectively collaborate with our AI and hardware teams.

• Bonus Points:

  Knowledge of

  Blender

  for concept visualization and rendering is a strong plus.
