Material Management (Thermal Power Project- 6x600 MW)

Purpose - Why does this role exist?

Key Result Areas (Key Performance Indicators)

• Port Operations Coordination

Coordinate with shipping lines, C&F agents, and port authorities for timely berthing, unloading, and dispatch of project cargo.

• Customs Clearance

Ensure timely filing of Bill of Entry, compliance with customs regulations, and coordination for duty exemption certificates and clearance of project imports.

• Material Receipt & Inspection

Supervise unloading, physical verification, and inspection of materials at site as per packing lists and technical specifications.

• Inventory Management

Maintain accurate records of receipts, storage, and issuance of materials using ERP/SAP systems; monitor stock levels and initiate replenishment as required.

• Documentation & Reporting

Ensure proper documentation for all inbound and outbound materials, including GRNs, inspection reports, and customs documents.

• Vendor & Transport Coordination

Liaise with transporters, vendors, and internal teams for timely delivery and dispatch of materials to various project locations.

• Compliance & Audit

Ensure adherence to statutory requirements (Customs Act, GST, etc.) and support internal/external audits related to material management.

Educational Background and Work Experience

• Educational Background

  :Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Civil) or Commerce; Diploma in Materials Management or Logistics preferred.

• Work Experience

  :Minimum 6 to10 years of experience in port operations, customs clearance, and material management for large-scale industrial or power projects.

Skills Required

• Expertise in port and customs procedures for project imports
• Familiarity with ERP/SAP-based inventory management
• Knowledge of statutory regulations: Customs Act, GST, Import/Export documentation
• Strong coordination and communication skills
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency in MS Office and documentation tools
