Manager - Utilities and Projects

Role & responsibilities:

The Utility and Project Manager is responsible for the Operation and maintenance of Utilities such as HVAC, Boiler, Chillers, Refrigeration (Ammonia plants), DG sets, Air compressors, Fuel storage & and pumping systems, ETP, RO, WTP, WWTP, Fire protection and detection systems, and all small & Minor Projects.

• Deploying his engineering knowledge to the central utility system, which is vital for the factory's operation.
• Compliance with all Statutory requirements under the purview of Utilities.
• Delivering a sustainable technical competitive advantage to the business.
• Managing both direct & outsourced manpower for efficient O&M of the Utility system.
• Supporting procurement processes and the execution of Best Practice knowledge.
• Working on energy efficiencies in his area of operation
• EHS Management in his area of operation.

What will be your key responsibilities?

• Statutory compliances pertaining to Boiler, Fuel storage, Fire System & overall support for Factory license, PCB consent, State Electricity role Compliance, etc.
• Leading a team of outsourced manpower for the Operation & Maintenance of Utility systems, including direct reports
• Carry out regular & periodic meeting & review sessions with the O&M team to ensure the uptime & efficiency of all Utility systems.
• Working closely towards the personal & professional development of direct reports to enable them for efficient deliver.
• Maintaining Utility Equipment uptime as per the factory operational requirement and execution/planning for capital expenditure.
• Carrying out Preventive Maintenance activities & adherence to the PM schedule as per the requirement
• Maintaining Spares & consumables inventory levels as per the operational requirement
• Lead the team to have 100% adherence to Safety standards for all activities at the site
• Coordinate with the Sustainability team to identify & execute Kaizen projects for energy efficiency improvement & water consumption optimization at the site.
• Coordinate with the Q&FS team for addressing issues with GMP/GHP & HACCP points & driving the team towards maintaining high-quality standards in Utility areas.
• Identifying & maintaining Best Engineering practices in all Utility areas.
• Maintain good peer relationships with both internal & external stakeholders.
• Working towards the Continuous improvement of Utility systems.
• Work with all stakeholders' requirements, safety, quality, operations, admin, warehouse engineering, and small & Minor projects.
• Writing the business case for each project and aligning with PLT and SLT members before raising the Cab.
• PRP compliance with cost tracking for each project.
• Vendor selection for all small Minor projects and closely work with the commercial team.
• Intime Project capitalization with the alignment finance team.
• Maintaining the FA register.
• Asset tagging after capitalization.

Preferred candidate profile:

• BE (Electrical/Mechanical) with 15 to 18 years of relevant experience in Utility Operations and Maintenance.
• Experience in utility equipment operation and maintenance from FMCG manufacturing is preferred.
• Thorough understanding of factory utilities and statutory requirements.
• Experience in dealing with facility management companies, engineering companies (Manufacturing Companies), and equipment suppliers.
• Candidates should have experience in Capex
