Biogas Technologist

The candidate will lead the design, optimization, implementation, and performance improvement of biogas and biomethane systems. This role requires deep technical expertise in anaerobic digestion, gas upgrading, and plant operations, along with the ability to mentor junior engineers, manage technical risks, and support project development from feasibility through commissioning and operations.

Key responsibilities :

• Lead process design and optimization of biogas and biomethane plants, including anaerobic digesters, gas cleaning, upgrading, compression, and utilization systems.
  
• Develop and review mass & energy balances, PFDs, P&IDs, equipment specifications, and process calculations.
  
• Evaluate feedstock suitability (agricultural waste, MSW, industrial effluents, sludge) and digestion performance.
  
• Optimize plant performance for gas yield, stability, efficiency, and compliance.

• Support business development teams with technical inputs for proposals and client presentations.
  
• Interface with regulators, technology providers, consultants, and clients.
  
• Provide technical due diligence for project investments or acquisitions.

• Provide technical leadership during feasibility studies, basic engineering, detailed engineering, commissioning, and start-up.
  
• Support EPC teams with vendor evaluation, technical bid reviews, and equipment selection.
  
• Identify and mitigate process, safety, and operational risks.
  
• Troubleshoot operational issues and propose corrective actions.

• Analyze plant performance data and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  
• Develop operating philosophies, SOPs, and process control strategies.
  
• Support debottlenecking, retrofits, and capacity expansion projects.
  
• Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements.
