or

Inpatient CDI experience
is priority and highly preferred Inpatient CDI does not include HCC or Physician-Office Based CDI
Inpatient Hospital Critical Care experience
is preferred this includes hands-on patient experience in Emergency Departments, Critical Care, or Med/Surg Units
Inpatient Hospital Medical Coding
, including with the ICD-10/CM, MS-DRG structure, and principle diagnosis selection is preferred

Proficiency with ICD-10, MS-DRG grouping, and query compliance practices

Strong communication, analytical, and clinical knowledge and interpretation skills (e.g., sepsis, pneumonia, CHF, respiratory failure)

Experience reviewing inpatient medical records is highly preferred

Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS/CDIP) or AHIMA/AAPC credential
