Manager - Taxation

As the Manager - Taxation (Direct) at one of the largest Global Indian Corporate with 125 years of expertise in Manufacturing of equipment and Machineries for various Applications, located in Pune city (Wakad/Baner), your responsibilities will include tax planning and implementation. You will be expected to undertake tax planning for the entire organization, both domestic and international, in order to structure the organization's operations to maximize tax benefits in accordance with tax laws and to achieve the overall organizational goals. You will review proposed major transactions, provide advice or propose changes to optimize tax results, and keep management informed of the impact of new tax laws, decisions, regulations, and proposed legislation in taxation and related areas. In terms of compliance, you will represent the organization and its associates on tax matters with legislative and administrative authorities. You will propose interpretations of laws, regulations, and administration to further the interests of the company and its subsidiaries. Additionally, you will oversee the preparation and submission of various requests and claims related to tax matters, conduct assessments for income tax, wealth tax, and sales tax, and ensure compliance with tax regulations while seeking exemptions and benefits wherever applicable. Your role will also involve risk management, including reviewing and managing cash positions, planning for adequate funds, implementing strategic initiatives for raising and managing funds, and ensuring proper accounting and secretarial compliances of retirement benefits such as PF Trust, Gratuity Trust, and Superannuation Trust. Furthermore, you will be responsible for regional office administration, private trust management, and acting as a people manager for the team. This will include managing recruitment, setting KRA's for direct reports, overseeing performance appraisals, facilitating the development of subordinates, ensuring compliance with company rules and regulations, and implementing suggestions based on internal audit findings for process improvement.
