Job Description

Responsibilities:

1. Managing and controlling all the companys external suppliers; Ensure equipment is bought at the most competitive price and delivered on time for deployment; Establish strategic relationships with key suppliers (probably turnkey including design) who are

aligned to the company's needs.

2. Forecasting likely levels of demand for services and products to meet the business needs and keeping a constant check on stock levels to maximise business efficiency.

3. Liaising between suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments and customers; identifying potential suppliers, visiting existing suppliers, and building and maintaining good relationships with them; negotiating and agreeing contracts and monitoring their progress - checking the quality of service provided.

4. Coordinating and managing with Quality personnel, resolutions to Supplier Quality concerns, ensuring timely and effective containment and long-term resolution of each concern.

5. Review or update supply chain practices in accordance with new or changing environmental policies, standards, regulations, or laws.

6. Select transportation routes to maximize economy by combining shipments or consolidating warehousing and distribution.

7. Develop material costs forecasts or standard cost lists.

8. Assess appropriate material handling equipment needs and staffing levels to load, unload, move, or store materials.

9. Appraise vendor manufacturing ability through on-site visits and measurements.

10. Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, vendors, or freight forwarders.

11. Monitor supplier performance to assess ability to meet quality and delivery requirements.

12. Meet with suppliers to discuss performance metrics, to provide performance feedback,

or to discuss production forecasts or changes.

Primary Job Role:

1. Implement new or improved supply chain processes.

2. Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement, engineering, and quality assurance, to identify or qualify new suppliers.

3. Develop or implement procedures or systems to evaluate or select suppliers.

4. Analyze information about supplier performance or procurement program success.

5. Design or implement supply chains that support environmental policies.

6. Document physical supply chain processes, such as workflows, cycle times, position responsibilities, or system flows.

7. Design or implement plant warehousing strategies for production materials or finished products.

8. Analyze inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns, reduce waste, or optimize customer service.

9. Participate in the coordination of engineering changes, product line extensions, or new product launches to ensure orderly and timely transitions in material or production flow.10

10. Develop procedures for coordination of supply chain management with other functional areas, such as sales, marketing, finance, production, or quality assurance.

11. Design or implement supply chains that support business strategies adapted to changing market conditions, new business opportunities, or cost reduction strategies.

12. Identify opportunities to reuse or recycle materials to minimize consumption of new materials, minimize waste, or to convert wastes to by-products.
