Manager/ Sr. Manager Production Steel Foundry

Role Summary:-

We are seeking a seasoned Production Manager to oversee our steel foundry operations. You will be responsible for the entire production lifecycle—from melting and molding to finishing and heat treatment. Your goal is to optimize throughput and ensure 100% adherence to metallurgical specifications while maintaining a world-class safety culture.

Key Responsibilities :-

Operations Management: Lead daily production activities in the melt shop, molding, and finishing departments to meet delivery schedules.

*Process Optimization:-

Implement Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles to reduce scrap rates and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

Metallurgical Oversight :- Work closely with the lab/quality team to ensure chemical compositions and mechanical properties of steel heats meet customer standards.

Team Leadership:-

Supervise and mentor a diverse team of supervisors, melters, and laborers; manage shift scheduling and training. Safety & Compliance enforce strict OSHA and environmental regulations, specifically regarding PPE and furnace safety.

Budgeting manage departmental costs, including raw material inventory (scrap) and energy consumption.

Qualifications & Skills Education:-

Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, or Mechanical Engineering (preferred).

Experience :- 10–15 years of experience in a foundry environment, with at least 3-5 years in a management role.

Technical Knowledge :- Deep understanding of electric arc furnaces (EAF) or induction melting, sand systems(CO2), and heat treatment of steel.

Soft Skills:-

Strong problem-solving abilities, decisive leadership under pressure, and excellent communication.

Be Specific about the Steel: Mention the grades you work with (e.g., Stainless, Carbon, Low-Alloy).

Highlight Technology:- If you use 3D sand printing, robotic grinding, or advanced simulation software (like MAGMASOFT), mention it.
