Security Operations & Projects Manager

Role & responsibilities

Project & Program Management

• Manage end-to-end delivery of SOC, SIEM, and threat intelligence projects.
• Create and track project plans, milestones, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Coordinate between SOC Engineers, SOC Architect, CTI teams, Red Team, and DevOps teams.
• Ensure SLAs and KPIs are consistently met across projects.
• Manage vendor relationships (tools, APIs, threat intel feeds, cloud platforms).

Operations Oversight

• Oversee SOC operations (Elastic Stack, Kibana dashboards, SIEM/SOAR integration).
• Monitor project risks, dependencies, and resolve bottlenecks.
• Ensure effective incident response coordination with SOC teams.
• Drive continuous improvement across processes, workflows, and delivery.

Client & Stakeholder Management

• Serve as the

  primary point of contact

  for enterprise/government clients.
• Present SOC performance reports, dashboards, and SLA compliance.
• Translate technical progress into

  business-impact language

  for executives.
• Handle escalations, ensure transparency, and maintain customer trust.

Team Leadership

• Manage SOC Engineers, Architects, and supporting staff.
• Assign responsibilities, track performance, and mentor team members.
• Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performance culture.
• Align team efforts with company strategy and client goals.

Required Skills & Experience

Technical / Domain Knowledge

• Strong understanding of

  SOC operations, Elastic/Kibana dashboards, SIEM/SOAR, threat detection, and incident response

  .
• Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks (MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI-DSS, CERT-In).
• Awareness of security technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, EDR, cloud logs, telecom data analysis).
• Ability to review technical work at a

  high-level

  (not necessarily hands-on coding).

Project Management Skills

• 7 to 12 years total experience,

  with at least

  3 to 5 years in project/program management

  of cybersecurity projects.
• Strong experience with

  Agile / Scrum / ITIL-based project governance

  .
• Proven track record of managing

  multi-million INR security projects

  .
• Proficiency in tools like Jira, MS Project, or similar for project tracking.

Soft Skills

• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Ability to balance

  technical detail with business strategy

  .
• Conflict resolution and client-handling skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelors/Masters in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or IT Management.
• PMP / PRINCE2 / ITIL certification preferred.
• Security certifications (CISSP, CISM, Elastic Certified, GIAC) are an added advantage.
