Role Overview: As an Underwriter for mortgage business in your assigned branch/location, you will be responsible for managing the portfolio and underwriting a broad range of complex loan applications. Your core responsibilities will include assessing creditworthiness through personal discussions with customers, evaluating income to obligation ratios, maintaining portfolio MIS, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures to meet SLAs. Key Responsibilities: - Review and assess a broad range of complex loan applications - Conduct personal discussions with customers to evaluate creditworthiness - Assess income to obligation ratios for loan applicants - Maintain portfolio MIS to track performance metrics - Ensure compliance with policies and procedures to meet agreed SLAs - Build effective relationships with third parties - Take ownership of client queries and provide timely resolutions - Strive for continuous process improvement in credit lending proposals - Facilitate quick turnaround of credit lending proposals for the mortgage business - Review credit exposures and manage risk mitigation strategies - Manage the credit underwriting function of your branch - Monitor client and collateral creditworthiness from pre-sanction to post-disbursement phase - Undertake necessary steps for risk mitigation - Follow up and ensure recovery of quick mortality cases within specified timelines Qualifications Required: - Graduate or Masters/Post Graduate qualification - Preferably hold certifications such as CA or MBA - Ability to critically review credit proposals - Manage credit risk effectively - Ensure adherence to legal and documentation norms - Monitor client and collateral creditworthiness for risk mitigation - Follow up and ensure recovery of quick mortality cases within specified timelines,
