Siemens offers a broad portfolio of grid control and automation; low- and medium-voltage power distribution, switching and control; and building automation, fire safety and security, HVAC control and energy solutions.Job Summary:Lead and oversee the Quality Control (testing operations) of Medium Voltage Air Insulated Switchgear Panels, ensuring compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and customer specifications.Key Responsibilities:1. Technical Leadership:
Lead and coordinate testing activities for MV AIS panels (typically 3.3kV to 36kV range)
Review and approve test procedures and protocols
Analyze test results and prepare comprehensive test reports
Troubleshoot complex technical issues during testing phases
2. Team Management: Supervise and mentor a team of test engineers and technicians
Allocate resources and schedule testing activities
Conduct performance evaluations and identify training needs
Ensure team adherence to safety protocols and procedures
Achieve optimum productivity with maintaining high spirit within the team during pressure situations.
3. Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, and other relevant standards
Maintain testing equipment calibration and accuracy
Implement and monitor quality control measures
Review and validate test documentation
Capture various data in FRT and FAT on monthly basis and release the KPI .
Collect data/ evidence of errors and give feedback to concern departments to improve inputs, drawings, vendor workmanships.
Control after dispatch NCC, Site complaints within set limits.
Work on various improvement projects in collaboration with CFT.
4. Project Management: Coordinate with project managers on testing schedules
Monitor testing progress and timeline adherence
Manage testing budget and resources
Interface with customers during witness testing
5. Audits Participate in internal ISO audits, EHS audits, EnMS audits, External ISO audits, Factory approvals audits .
6. Safety Maintain EHS on shopfloor during day-to-day activities.
Maintain records of safety trainings to testing engineer team.
Maintain records of documentation for service providers.
Ensure compliance of HIRA, PTW, TBT and LMRA processes.
Required Qualifications:Education: Bachelors degree in electrical engineering
Additional certifications in switchgear testing preferred
Experience: Minimum 8-10 years of experience in MV switchgear testing
3-5 years in a leadership role
Strong background in electrical power distribution systems
Technical Skills:
Expertise in switchgear testing procedures and protocols
Proficiency in various testing equipment and tools
Knowledge of relevant standards (IEC 62271, IEEE C37 series)
Understanding of protection relay systems and control schemes
Soft Skills:
Strong leadership and team management abilities
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Safety Qualifications: Advanced electrical safety certification
Knowledge of arc flash safety protocols
First aid and emergency response training
Additional : Willingness to travel for customer witness testing
Flexibility to work extended hours when required
Valid electrical safety work permits
Proficiency in test report documentation and analysis software
