Manager - Packaging Development

The Packaging Development Manager role involves spearheading efforts in packaging innovation, renovation, troubleshooting, and technical support. It requires a creative yet analytical approach to develop packaging solutions that meet aesthetic, functional, environmental, and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will lead initiatives in alignment with the global strategy, maintaining the competitive edge for the brands. Responsibilities include: - Developing long-term strategies for packaging materials aligned with business objectives and quality standards - Leading packaging development for new products, limited editions, SKUs, and value-added products - Supporting brand restage projects and extending support to adjacent categories for brand consistency - Creating a repository of cost-efficient and premium packaging solutions - Leading technical oversight and maintaining quality control processes - Driving sustainability initiatives and cost management in packaging - Integrating advanced packaging technologies through open innovation - Collaborating with global teams, industry partners, and cross-functional teams - Setting KPIs related to time to market, innovation, cost efficiency, sustainability, quality compliance, and customer satisfaction Qualifications required: - Post-Graduation in Packaging from a reputed University, with additional certifications in Packaging Design Software, Digital Packaging workflows, and Sustainability tools beneficial - Minimum of 10 years of experience in packaging development within the beverage industry or related FMCG sectors Desirable criteria include experience in developing various packaging materials and understanding plant equipment like blowing machines and filling machines. Leadership competencies such as Growth Mindset, Delivering through Collaboration, and Functional competencies in Packaging Design, Material Science Knowledge, Regulatory Compliance, Sustainability Practices are essential for success in this role. Behavioral skills like Innovation, Problem Solving, Communication, and Team Collaboration are also crucial. The Packaging Development Manager will interact with internal teams like Commercial & Planning, Integrated Operations, and other functions, as well as external partners like design, development, technology partners, suppliers, and universities.
