Job Title: Mechanical Design Manager - Power Distribution Transformers (up to 132kV) Location: Dobaspet Industrial Area, Bangalore, Karnataka No. of Positions: 2 Experience: 8 -15 Years Salary: Up to 18 LPA (CTC based on experience and skillset) Benefits: Transportation, Insurance, Canteen, Team outing, Trainings. Key Responsibilities: Lead the mechanical design of oil-filled distribution and power transformers up to 132kV class as per relevant standards (IS/IEC). Finalize mechanical BOM, tank design, core clamping arrangements, cooling systems (ONAN/ONAF), lifting arrangements, conservator, radiator, and other accessories. Coordinate with the electrical design, production, QA/QC, and purchase teams to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability. Ensure compliance with customer technical specifications, tender requirements, and regulatory standards. Validate mechanical strength and stress analysis under short circuit forces and thermal loading conditions. Guide junior design engineers and review their work for accuracy and performance. Provide design inputs for cost optimization, manufacturability, and reliability. Participate in design reviews, technical discussions with clients, and third-party inspections. Lead the design documentation, drawing approval process, and engineering change management. Desired Candidate Profile: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution. 8-15 years of relevant experience in mechanical design of transformers up to 132kV. Strong knowledge of transformer construction, sheet metal design, tank fabrication, and mechanical stress analysis. Hands-on experience in CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks/Inventor/CREO) and engineering design software. Familiarity with manufacturing processes and quality standards in transformer industry. Good communication and team management skills. Exposure to ERP systems and design change management is a plus.
