Manager Freight & Logistics

Key Responsibilities:

• Negotiate freight rates with shipping lines and service providers to optimize costs.
  
• Manage relationships with

  ICDs (Inland Container Depots)

  ,

  CFS (Container Freight Stations)

  , and logistics partners.
• Oversee end-to-end logistics operations for both bulk and containerized cargo.
  
• Negotiate contracts and ensure cost-effective road transportation solutions.
  
• Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
  
• Provide strategic input to improve logistics efficiency and reduce overall transportation costs.
  
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations, DGFT procedures, and other statutory requirements.
  
• Liaise with shipping line sales departments for cargo movement and service agreements.
  

Candidate Profile:

• Minimum

  10 years of experience

  in freight negotiations, shipping line sales, and logistics management.
• Must have worked at a

  senior position

  in the sales department of a shipping line.
• Strong knowledge of

  bulk & containerized cargo handling

  .
• Good understanding of

  Customs, DGFT procedures, and documentation

  (candidates with this expertise will be considered for a higher CTC).
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  
• Ability to lead logistics strategy, drive cost optimization, and ensure regulatory compliance.
  

Qualifications:

• Graduate/Postgraduate in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Trade, or a related field (preferred).
  
• Strong industry network with shipping lines, CFS, ICDs, and transporters.
