What does the team do?
The FP&A team within ShareChat is responsible for all management reporting, investor reporting, and consolidation activities. Members of this team traverse between accounting/controllership functions and business finance. The team acts as a critical bridge with deep insights into accounting/tax policies, business strategy, and investor perspectives. Started two years ago, the team is like a startup within ShareChat. The FP&A and Consolidation manager is the first hire.
What you will do:
FP&A:
- Reporting/Analysis: Prepare monthly financial package-P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, and all supporting schedules. Present the financials to leadership after due research and with a coherent story. Drive investor reporting, statutory reporting, and reconciliations between the two.
- Support Fund Raise Efforts: Work with corporate development and support capital raise efforts. Collate data, prepare necessary schedules, create data rooms, and answer any queries coming up in due diligences. Should also have working knowledge of both DT and IDT.
- Interface with Business/Business Finance: Develop a solid understanding of the business drivers and strategies. Connect dots to explain implications of accounting changes on business results, and implications of strategy shifts on accounting. Build relationships to aid in variance analysis. Act as a challenging/validating partner to both accounting and business finance teams to ensure accuracy.
- Ad Hoc Analysis: Conduct ad hoc financial analysis for leadership as needed.
- Collaboration with accounting / tax teams: Collaborate with accounting functions as part of the close process to ensure appropriate accounting principles are applied. Perform analysis to understand significant variances. Work closely to improve the overall efficiency of the finance org, improve visibility, and depth of understanding of key financial metrics.
- Function Building: Lead technology deployment in the business finance domain. Be the custodian of cost centers and GLs, drive deployment of NetSuite for annual planning, enable dashboarding, help integration of NetSuite with other systems (and data sources) within ShareChat for sharper analysis, etc.
Consolidation
: - Close Process: Actively participate in month close activities for elements not covered under Order-to-Cash or Procure-to-Pay workstreams. Post intercompany consolidation and other entries as needed to close group financials. Conduct reviews with O2C/P2P teams and pressure test key provisions/entries to ensure tight controls and accuracy of results. Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end accounting close of ShareChat and its subsidiaries
- Support Internal and Stat Audits: Similar to supporting due diligence, support annual statutory audits and internal audits. Prepare final audited financials, and interface with auditors and internal teams to provide necessary information and commentary. For statutory audits, post audit entries, prepare necessary memos for files and auditors, and drive projects with external consultants (eg. valuers or actuaries) as needed. For internal audits, own the audit, and eventual work program to ensure respective teams are actioning recommendations.
- Intercompany transactions: Review intercompany account balances reconciliation monthly and ensure that these balances are correctly reflected in the General ledger, also to ensure that all intercompany account queries are resolved in a timely manner.
- Documentation and Governance: Enhance and maintain accounting policy and procedural documentation (incl. RCMs).Drive cross functional teams to enhance documentation for better audit preparedness. Work with external consultants where necessary to tighten internal control environment.

- CA with 4+ years of post-qualification experience across FP&A and Controllership functions
- Big 4 and startup experience must
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Should have a track record of hands-on report/analysis preparation, JE posting, etc.
