Role Overview
Consolidation Leader
Responsibilities
1. Consolidation & Reporting
- Own and drive the monthly, quarterly and annual consolidationof P&L, balance sheet and cash flow for the group and its subconsolidations, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Manage intercompany (I/C) eliminations, equity consolidation, profitininventory eliminations, goodwill and noncontrolling interest (NCI) calculations
- Prepare consolidated management and statutory financial statements, ensuring compliance with USGAAP and reconciling IFRS when necessary
- Perform balance sheet reviews, highlighting risk areas, mismatches or unusual movements for management.
2. SAP S/4HANA  GR Integration
- Act as the process owner bridging the gap between S/4HANA (local entity reporting) and GR (group consolidation).
- Oversee data mapping, upload, and validationfrom S/4 to GR, ensuring balances align and intercompany data is clean.
- Lead troubleshooting of mapping, master data, or trading partner issues.
- Partner with IT/SAP COE to drive automation, process enhancements, and system upgrades.
3. Intercompany Reconciliation & KPI Management
- Lead the intercompany (IC) reconciliation processacross entities; coordinate confirmations and resolve mismatches before groupclose deadlines.
- Oversee IC elimination process(AR/AP, loans, dividends, revenue/COGS), including unrealized profit in inventory (UPI) within GR.
- Collaborate with FP&A and Controllership teams to ensure accuracy of financial and nonfinancial KPI reporting and align internal/external reporting
4. Month-End Close Activities
- Establish and manage a close calendarcovering entity submissions, IC reconciliation, consolidation.
- Monitor timely completionof entity close activities in S/4 and escalate delays.
- Review journal entries, reclassifications, and adjustmentsimpacting consolidation
- Partner with Controllers to review unresolved mismatchesand approve manual consolidation entries where needed.
- Coordinate preparation of consolidated managementandstatutory reporting packsand support the preparation of external disclosures where required.
5. Governance & Continuous Improvement
- Develop and enforce standardized consolidation policiesacross entities (cutoff rules, FX usage, IC processes).
- Strengthen internal controlsaround consolidation, IC, and balance sheet governance.
- Lead process improvement projects(automation, SAP ICR, advanced reporting tools).
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME)on SAP GR, training finance teams and supporting change management.
6. Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Build and mentor a highperforming consolidation team; provide coaching and career development.
- Partner with local finance teams, FP&A, Treasury, IT, tax and corporate leadership to align objectives and drive continuous improvement.
- Serve as the primary interface for external auditors; maintain documentation, perform technical accounting research and ensure timely responses to audit queries.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA or equivalent preferred
- 10+ yearsof progressive finance/accounting experience, with at least- 5 years in group consolidation & reporting.
- Strong expertise in USGAAP (with IFRS exposure)andstatutory consolidationrequired.
- Advanced knowledge of SAP S/4HANA (cloud version)andSAP Group Reporting (GR).
- Experience with intercompany reconciliation tools(SAP ICR, Blackline, or equivalent) is a strong plus.
- Prior experience in a multinational / matrix organizationis highly desirable.
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on problem solving and process improvement.
- Strong leadership skills, including team management, ability to work in a fastpaced, dynamic environment and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience with mergers and acquisitions integration(purchase accounting, goodwill, NCI)and onboarding new entities into consolidation systems is a strong plus.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills(finance, IT, auditors, regional controllers).
