Job Description

Role & responsibilities

1. Financial Accounting & Reporting

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules.
  • Maintain compliance with accounting standards (e.g., GAAP/IFRS/Ind AS).

2. Budgeting & Financial Planning

  • Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Monitor budget variances and provide actionable insights to management.
  • Support business units with financial analysis for decision-making.

3. Compliance & Audit Management

  • Ensure statutory compliance including GST, TDS, Income Tax, PF, ESI, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors during audits.
  • Implement internal controls and risk-management practices.

4. Treasury & Cash Flow Management

  • Oversee cash flow planning and working capital management.
  • Manage banking relationships, payments, and fund disbursements.
  • Optimize utilization of financial resources.

5. Process Improvement & Systems Management

  • Enhance financial processes and implement best practices.
  • Work with ERP/accounting software for automation and efficiency.
  • Develop SOPs for finance functions.

6. Team Leadership

  • Supervise and mentor the finance & accounts team.
  • Provide training and ensure productivity and accuracy.
  • Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Preferred candidate profile

Qualifications & Skills

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Commerce/Finance/Accounting.
  • MBA Finance, CA, CMA, or equivalent professional qualification preferred.

Experience

  • Typically 12–18 years of experience in finance & accounting roles.
  • Prior experience in team management is desirable.

Key Skills

  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards and financial regulations.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis, forecasting, and MIS reporting.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Tally, Netsuite, etc.).
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
  • High integrity and attention to detail.
