Manager / Dy Manager - Process Engineering

We are hiring for a leading specialty chemical manufacturing company.

Designation: Manager / Dy Manager - Process Engineering

Location: Vishakapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.

Key Responsibilities:

A. Process Development & Scale-Up

• Drive the design and execution of pilot plant experiments and plant-scale trials for new processes
• Convert laboratory/kilo-lab processes into full-scale commercial procedures with minimal variability
• Perform mass and energy balance calculations, equipment sizing, and scale-up risk evaluations
• Prepare PFDs, P&IDs, and batch documentation to support scale-up activities
  

B. Process Optimization

• Identify and deliver improvements in yield, cycle time, and energy efficiency
• Enhance process parameters, raw material utilization, and utility consumption for better productivity
• Evaluate and improve unit operations such as mixing, heat transfer, distillation, crystallization, and filtration
  

C. Troubleshooting & Technical Support

• Analyze and resolve issues related to process failures, deviations, or equipment inefficiencies
• Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive measures
• Collaborate with production, quality, and safety teams to stabilize and standardize processes
  

D. Documentation & Compliance

• Develop technical reports, SOPs, MOCs, batch recipes, and change-control documents
• Ensure strict adherence to HAZOP, ISO, and EHS standards
• Maintain detailed scale-up reports and historical process records
  

E. Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with R&D, operations, EHS, maintenance, and project engineering teams
• Actively participate in HAZOP, PSSR, and commissioning of new equipment/systems
• Support technology transfer across internal teams and external manufacturing sites (if applicable)

Qualification:

Nature of Experience:

• 8–10 years in process scale-up, technology transfer, and troubleshooting within chemical, specialty/fine chemicals, agrochemicals, or pharmaceutical intermediates industries
• Familiarity with pilot plant operations, GLRs, SS reactors, filters, dryers, reboilers, distillation units, short path distillation, and vacuum systems
• Demonstrated success in plant-scale trials, process optimization, and troubleshooting activities
