ORGANISATION CHART

Senior Architect

JOB PURPOSE

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the architectural design of commercial zones, lounges, food & beverage areas, retail spaces, and hospitality elements within airport developments.
  • Create and present

    mood boards, material palettes, and design narratives

    to communicate the design vision effectively.
  • Manage and mentor a design team of

    at least 3 architects or designers

    , overseeing daily workflows, quality, and coordination.
  • Integrate architectural concepts with branding, wayfinding, and experiential design to elevate passenger satisfaction and commercial performance.
  • Coordinate with airport stakeholders, hospitality operators, commercial tenants, and branding consultants.
  • Ensure spatial planning aligns with passenger flows, operational requirements, and revenue-generating strategies.
  • Oversee the design documentation process from concept through construction with attention to detail and quality.
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of construction detailing

    , materials, finishes, and integration of architectural elements into complex building systems.
  • Keep up-to-date with trends in hospitality, luxury retail, and experiential design within aviation and transport infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and international aviation standards (ICAO, IATA).

Support sustainability initiatives and innovation in material use, digital integration, and future-ready design strategies.

Take references from the best practices around the world and create a database for future references for team

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES - Additional Details

The person handling this role shall be reporting to the Design lead and shall be accountable for the following:

EXTERNAL INTERACTIONS

External - Roles you need to interact with outside the organization to enable success in your day to day work

Coordinate with Internal stakeholders i. e. Terminal Operations, Security, Commercial, Safety, ARFF and CFL teams for execution of Retail & Commercial projects.

Develop project design, ensuring sign-offs with the Business Development Team and Concessionaires.

Communicate with Internal stakeholders i. e. Terminal Operations, Security, Commercial, Safety, ARFF and CFL teams for progress and developments of Retail & Commercial projects.

Compliance of statutory requirements as required by law or Regulatory guidelines is met by all agencies.

INTERNAL INTERACTIONS

Internal - Roles you need to interact with inside the organization to enable success in your day to day work

Preparation of project brief, cost proposals and planning in coordination with Business Development Team and Concessionaires.

Communicate with internal teams for design coordination and developments.

Preparation of design, specifications and all material approvals in coordination with Business Development Team and Concessionaires.

Coordinate architectural designs with structural & MEP and IT services

Coordinating and monitoring of designs with external consultations and sub-consultants.

FINANCIAL DIMENSIONS

  • Should have independently handled design and execution of Commercial and Retail project of Rs 50 - 100 crores

OTHER DIMENSIONS

  • Minimum 10 years of experience, including at least 5 years in commercial/hospitality design within airport or mixed-use projects.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating hospitality and commercial projects with design innovation.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite, and BIM workflows.
  • Proven experience in developing

    mood boards, conceptual presentations, and design storytelling

    .
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing a

    team of 3 or more designers/architects

    .
  • Strong technical skills in construction detailing

    , coordination with services, and site implementation support.
  • Excellent project coordination, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.
  • Construction supervision experience of minimum of 3 large scale completed projects.
  • Experience with luxury retail, lounge design, or premium hospitality projects.
  • Exposure to international airport or transport infrastructure projects.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor s/Master s degree in Architecture from a recognized institution.

Registered Architect with COA (India) or equivalent license.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

Minimum 10 Years of work experience as Engineer / Architect.

  • Project Managementexperience in Retail Projects preferred
  • Well versed in the following:
  • Ability to interact with client.
  • Familiar with execution of architectural / interior works. .
  • Knowledge of architectural and interior design and fit out.
