Manager - Contracts

We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and commercially astute Manager Contracts to manage contracting activities across all company projects. The role involves tendering, contractor onboarding, contract drafting, MIS reporting, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical, commercial, and contractual expertise with the ability to manage multiple contracts while ensuring compliance, cost control, and timely execution.

As a Manager Contracts, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Contracting & Tendering

• Understand, implement, and ensure compliance with departmental SOPs related to Contracts.
• Prepare Expressions of Interest (EOIs) and detailed tender documents, including scope of work, BOQs, commercial terms, and contractual clauses.
• Thoroughly review and interpret tender documents and contractual clauses to identify risks and obligations.
• Float enquiries to pre-qualified contractors and manage the end-to-end tendering process.
• Analyze scope of work, drawings, and specifications to prepare internal cost estimates and benchmarks.
• Prepare commercial comparison statements, participate in negotiations, and support finalization and closure of contracts.
• Draft work orders and contract agreements with activity-specific clauses aligned to project requirements.

Contractor & Vendor Management

• Evaluate contractors for onboarding based on technical, commercial, and performance criteria.
• Update and maintain the contractor/vendor database and actively source new vendors as required.
• Document and periodically review contractor/vendor performance in coordination with internal stakeholders.
• Arrange and facilitate kick-off meetings between site teams and contractors to ensure clarity on scope, timelines, and deliverables.

Contract Administration

• Handle contract administration activities including amendments, variations, extensions, and dispute resolution.
• Support site teams on contractual interpretations, claims, deviations, and related issues.
• Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of all contractual correspondence, claims, and decisions.
• Establish project-specific contractual protocols to ensure consistency and compliance across sites.

Coordination & Stakeholder Management

• Coordinate effectively with internal teams such as Projects, QS and Procurement.
• Liaise with external stakeholders including contractors, consultants, and vendors to ensure smooth contract execution.

MIS, ERP & Reporting

• Update and maintain MIS data related to contracts for periodic management review.
• Learn, prepare, and process work orders and contracts through the ERP system.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of contractual data and reports submitted to management.

Core Requirements

• BE / B.Tech Civil Engineering from a reputed institute.
• 10 to 12 years of experience in the Construction / Real Estate industry, with strong exposure to contracts and tendering.
• In-depth understanding of contracts, contract governance, contractual language, and the complete contract lifecycle.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail with high standards of accuracy and precision.
• Superior reading, writing, and drafting skills, particularly for contractual documentation
