Manager, Business Operations

As a Manager - Business Operations, Motor & OGI at PhonePe, you will play a crucial role in streamlining processes and ensuring seamless issuance of insurance products with high service standards. Your main responsibilities will include: Partner Management & Collaboration: You will act as the key interface with external insurance partners, lead negotiations to enhance underwriting guidelines, and strengthen relationships to streamline partner-led processes. Business Operations & Process Excellence: Managing day-to-day operations, driving initiatives to reduce friction in workflows, ensuring regulatory compliance, partner SLAs, and internal process adherence, as well as enhancing customer journeys across touchpoints. Automation & Tech Enablement: Collaborating with product and tech teams to drive API-led integrations and automation, championing the adoption of tools and MIS systems to improve visibility, accuracy, and turnaround times. Team Leadership: Leading a team of approximately 15 members, setting clear objectives, fostering a service-oriented culture, and enabling the team to manage high-impact, high-volume operational environments. Data-Driven Decision Making: Analyzing operational data, identifying process bottlenecks, proposing solutions, monitoring key metrics for performance evaluation, and identifying improvement areas. The ideal candidate for this role should have 5-8 years of experience in insurance operations, business operations, or relevant functions in insurance, e-commerce, or fintech. Technical fluency in API-driven processes, automation tools, and system-level thinking is required, along with proven people leadership skills, stakeholder management abilities, a customer-first attitude, and strong problem-solving skills. The candidate must be based out of or open to relocating to Pune and willing to travel to partner locations regularly. Experience in managing Motor/OGI verticals, exposure to tech-driven process transformations, and prior experience in scaling service operations are considered advantageous.
