Qualified Accountant

Insurance background & insurance accounting

Able to investigate data issues independently and interested in understanding root cause of issues

Training will be provided for Snowflake and systems to be used, but an interest in technology and data is essential

Strong communicator

Interest in automation and able to look at a process and make recommendations rather than just follow process notes.

Chartered Accountant, CPA, CFA or equivalent with 6 - 9 years experience in US GAAP / IFRS accounting experience

B.Com with strong practical experience in Accounting and reporting for more than 10-12 years

Process entails review of local GAAP adjustment journals for APAC, EMEA and LATHAM countries for an insurance client.

Manage the period - end close cycle - Month-end/Quarter-end/Annual for local books of various countries

Expert knowledge on GAAP consolidation cycle and ability to review consolidation financials and provide commentary for Group consolidation

Reconcile the general ledger accounts, calculating appropriate adjustments and provisions and booking them to the ledger upon approval, performing intercompany netting, and preparing relevant financial reports (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow) for CFO review.

Sound understanding of Insurance operation and accounting of Premium and Losses, Topside Premium, and losses Adj etc.
