Maintenance Technician

You are a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician (Diploma Holder) responsible for the preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of machinery in a fully mechanised manufacturing setup. Your primary focus is on machine troubleshooting, repair, and documentation to ensure minimum downtime and smooth production operations. Key Responsibilities: Preventive Maintenance: - Perform routine preventive maintenance on all mechanical equipment as scheduled. - Maintain checklists and logs of preventive tasks. Breakdown Maintenance: - Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical issues in production machines such as conveyors, compressors, gearboxes, and hydraulic systems. - Coordinate with the production team to promptly resolve machinery issues. Machine Installation & Commissioning: - Assist in the installation, commissioning, and testing of new machines and mechanical systems. Spare Management: - Monitor critical spare parts and request procurement as needed. - Keep an inventory of mechanical spares and tools. Documentation & Reporting: - Maintain maintenance records, service reports, and machine history. - Prepare daily maintenance reports and update machine downtime logs. Safety & Compliance: - Adhere to standard safety practices and company SOPs during all maintenance activities. - Ensure compliance with ISO, 5S, and other factory standards. Continuous Improvement: - Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for frequent breakdowns. - Propose enhancements for machine reliability and performance. Key Skills & Competencies: - Strong mechanical aptitude in handling motors, gear drives, and pneumatics. - Familiarity with maintenance tools and diagnostic equipment. - Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure. - Basic computer skills for documentation (MS Excel, maintenance software if applicable). Qualification: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institute. Preferred Industries: FMCG, Auto Components, Food Processing, Packaging, or any continuous manufacturing setup.
