Maintenance Manager

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Manager will oversee the repair, servicing, and overall upkeep of the company’s fleet. This role ensures all vehicles are maintained in safe, compliant, and optimal working condition to reduce downtime and operational costs. The position requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and hands-on experience in heavy vehicle maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and supervise complete workshop operations and the maintenance team.
• Prepare and execute preventive maintenance schedules for all vehicles (HCV/LCV/trailers/trucks).
• Conduct regular inspections to identify mechanical faults and performance issues.
• Ensure timely servicing, repairs, engine overhauls, clutch/gearbox work, electrical repairs, air systems, tire changes, and overall vehicle upkeep.
• Maintain inventory of spare parts and coordinate with suppliers for timely procurement.
• Monitor maintenance expenses and implement cost-control measures.
• Maintain detailed records of vehicle maintenance, job cards, and parts consumption.
• Manage breakdown maintenance and provide technical guidance to field staff.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards, workshop protocols, and compliance requirements.
• Train mechanics and technicians on best practices, diagnostic techniques, and new technologies.
• Coordinate with the Fleet Manager for vehicle availability and maintenance planning.

Requirements:

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering.
• 2–4 years of experience in vehicle workshop operations or fleet maintenance within the transport/logistics sector.
• Strong knowledge of truck engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, and heavy commercial vehicles.
• Proven ability to lead and manage a team of mechanics and workshop staff.
• Good analytical, problem-solving, and reporting abilities.
