Job Profile: - The Head of Maintenance is responsible for overseeing the entire maintenance function within the organization. This role involves ensuring that all machinery, equipment, and facilities are operating efficiently and effectively, and that maintenance activities are carried out in a timely and cost-effective manner. The Head of Maintenance will lead a team of maintenance professionals and work closely with other departments to ensure smooth operations. Maintenance Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance strategy to ensure maximum operational efficiency and minimal downtime. Establish preventative and predictive maintenance programs. Monitor and optimize maintenance processes to reduce costs and improve equipment reliability. Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of maintenance engineers, technicians, and other staff. Provide training and development opportunities to the maintenance team. Conduct performance reviews and set clear goals for team members. Equipment and Facility Management: Oversee the maintenance and repair of all machinery, equipment, and facilities within the organization. Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with safety and regulatory standards. Collaborate with production and other departments to ensure minimal disruption to operations. Budget Management: Prepare and manage the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficient allocation of resources. Monitor expenditures and implement cost-saving measures without compromising on quality or safety. Vendor Management: Select and manage relationships with external contractors and service providers. Negotiate contracts and ensure that service agreements are met. Health, Safety, and Environment: Ensure that all maintenance activities adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations. Implement safety protocols and conduct regular safety audits. Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment logs, and maintenance schedules. Prepare regular reports on maintenance performance, including key metrics such as downtime, costs, and equipment reliability. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in maintenance practices and implement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Stay updated on the latest maintenance technologies and best practices. Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Proficiency in maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other relevant software. Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
