As a Mainframe Storage Administrator at Viraaj HR Solutions, you will be responsible for managing mainframe storage systems to ensure optimal performance and availability. Your role will involve implementing and monitoring data backup and recovery processes, optimizing storage solutions based on performance metrics and capacity needs, and conducting routine performance tuning of storage systems to enhance efficiency. You will also be required to develop and maintain technical documentation related to storage processes and configurations, participate in disaster recovery planning and execution, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve storage-related issues. Additionally, you will assist in capacity planning, monitor system alerts, coordinate with vendors for support and maintenance of storage systems, and ensure compliance with data protection regulations. To qualify for this position, you should have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, along with proven experience as a Mainframe Storage Administrator or in a similar role. Strong knowledge of mainframe storage architectures and management, experience with data backup and recovery solutions, and familiarity with performance tuning techniques for storage systems are essential. You should possess excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, the ability to work well in a team and facilitate collaboration, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and proficiency in technical documentation and reporting. Knowledge of relevant data protection regulations, experience with monitoring and alerting tools, and vendor management experience would be advantageous. Moreover, your role will involve evaluating new storage technologies, recommending upgrades as needed, reporting on storage system performance, recommending improvements, supporting end-users with storage-related inquiries and issues, and conducting training sessions for staff on storage best practices.
