Mainframe Infra-DB2 Sys Prog

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe DB2 System Programmer to lead DB2 infrastructure management in large SysPlex data-sharing environments. The role involves installing, customizing, upgrading, and tuning DB2 systems while ensuring high availability, performance, and compliance. As a subject matter expert, the candidate will collaborate with DBAs, IT teams, and vendors to deliver robust database services and support critical 24x7 applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform

  mainframe DB2 software installation, customization, upgrades, and tuning

  .
• Establish and enforce

  policies and procedures

  for database management, disaster recovery, security, and maintenance.
• Analyze and evaluate

  new DB2 versions

  to improve performance and reduce cost.
• Conduct

  performance data collection, analysis, and tuning

  of DB2 systems.
• Provide

  production and development support

  for DB2 environments running critical 24x7 applications.
• Lead and participate in

  incident, problem, and change management

  activities.
• Perform

  problem diagnostics and resolution

  for DB2 system and application-related issues.
• Collaborate with

  infrastructure DBAs, IT teams, and vendors

  for system improvements and project implementations.
• Develop and maintain

  operational documentation, best practices, and runbooks

  .
• Implement and manage tools and procedures to ensure system

  stability and optimization

  .
• Provide

  24x7 on-call support

  for DB2 infrastructure.

Primary Skills (Required)

• 7+ years

  of experience installing and customizing

  Mainframe DB2 software

  and/or replication product suites.
• Hands-on experience working with

  large data-sharing SysPlex environments

  .
• Strong

  problem determination skills

  across system and application areas.
• Solid understanding of available DB2 resources and ability to use them for issue resolution and optimization.
  
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other SMEs and DBAs.
  
• High personal initiative with a drive for

  continuous improvement

  .

• Experience with

  IDAA, IDAA Bulk Loader, CDC Replication

• Hands-on experience in

  design, configuration, and support

  for production/development departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).

• Exposure to ITIL-aligned practices is desirable.
