Job Description

Position: Logistics Specialist.

Experience 8-10 years

Position Overview:

  1. Import Export Operations:

    • Develop and execute import-export strategies to optimize efficiency and minimize costs.
    • Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and customs requirements.
    • Coordinate shipment schedules and manage relationships with freight forwarders and customs brokers.
    • Monitor and track shipments to ensure timely delivery and resolve any issues that may arise.
  2. Material Planning:

    • Forecast demand for materials and components to support production schedules.
    • Collaborate with procurement and production teams to ensure timely availability of materials.
    • Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet production targets while minimizing excess inventory.
    • Implement inventory control measures and conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy.
  3. Supplier Management:

    • Identify and onboard reliable suppliers and vendors for materials and logistics services.
    • Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings and service level agreements.
    • Resolve supplier performance issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
  4. Data Analysis and Reporting:

    • Analyze import-export data and material planning metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
    • Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management on key performance indicators and operational metrics.
    • Implement data-driven decision-making processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  5. Compliance and Risk Management:

    • Stay informed about changes in import-export regulations and ensure compliance with trade laws.
    • Develop and maintain risk management strategies to mitigate potential disruptions in the supply chain.
    • Conduct risk assessments and implement contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree Engineering in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in import-export operations, material planning, or supply chain management.
  • Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and logistics management.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make strategic decisions.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced knowledge of MS Excel for data analysis and reporting.
