Logistics Operations Executive

Role & responsibilities

Ensure timely coordination of all import shipments from foreign ports to Indian destinations.

• Strong knowledge of import documentation, including Bill of Lading, IGM, BOE filing, duty assessment, etc.
• Ensure accurate and timely submission of shipping instructions and coordination with overseas agents.
• Expertise in import custom clearance process and familiarity with all mandatory regulatory requirements (ADC, PQ, BIS, FSSAI, etc.).
• Monitor IGM filing status, container tracking, and ensure DSR (Daily Status Report) updates.
• Ability to negotiate competitive freight rates, local charges, and resolve disputes with carriers/vendors.
• Maintain relationships with carriers, CFS, CHA, and transporters for smooth operations.
• Ensure timely payment coordination with accounts for freight, CHA charges, and statutory duties.
• Handle any exceptions, such as short landing, detention/demurrage disputes, and insurance claims.
• Meet cost-efficiency, compliance, and client satisfaction targets.

COMPETENCIES / QUALITIES REQUIRED:

• Strong knowledge of Import Sea Freight Operations (LCL/FCL handling).
• End-to-end understanding of freight forwarding process for imports (foreign origin to India delivery).
• Excellent communication skills for client and vendor coordination.
• Good experience in liaising with shipping lines, CHA, CFS, and transporters.
• Documentation expertise: Checklist preparation, customs documentation, HS code understanding.
• Ability to handle regulatory compliance, including PQ/NOC, ADC, BIS certification, etc.
• Experience in logistics software and ability to maintain detailed shipment tracking reports.
