POSITION : Logistics Manager- Ground Transportation (Inland) Qualifications : Any Graduation Experience : Minimum 10 to 15 years experience in Ground Transportation (Inland) ROLE CONTEXT The Logistics manager-Ground transportation is primarily responsible for ensuring the safe and timely receipt and dispatch of materials / equipment related to all projects undertaken by BFL by road within the country including Nepal and other neighbouring countries as the case may be. Transportation Build a robust pipeline of transporters for each class of vehicles and periodically evaluate effectiveness Identify and float enquiries to service providers Manage the creation and distribution of routing instructions to ensure optimal costs incurred in logistics Identify inefficiencies and opportunities for reduction in transportation costs and improved material flow Review and make course corrections as required in quotations received from suppliers Monitor and review the process of sending RFQs (Request for Quotation) Monitor validation of technical specifications of an offer made Develop robust processes for effective tracking and inspection of dispatches to minimise pilferage. Manage transportation of ODC load to projects Ensure procurement of necessary permits as applicable Identify storage space for materials and equipment at project site Identify new transporters both in India and Nepal and in other countries wherever we have operations Ensure complete transportation is cost effective and carried out in a safe and secure manner. Use latest Project Management tools to ensure the least cost and time in an optimised manner. Road Survey Engage transporters to conduct a road survey and in case required participate in the survey Collate and analyse results of the road survey.
