Job Summary

Logistics Coordinator

Key Responsibilities

• Shipment Coordination:

  Plan and track inbound and outbound shipments (road, air, sea, or rail) to ensure on-time delivery.

• Inventory Management:

  Monitor stock levels and coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure inventory accuracy and availability.

• Vendor & Carrier Relations:

  Negotiate shipping rates with carriers and maintain strong relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) providers.

• Documentation:

  Prepare and process essential paperwork, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, customs declarations, and packing lists.

• Problem Solving:

  Proactively resolve shipment delays, damaged goods, or routing issues to minimize impact on the customer.

• Performance Tracking:

  Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as freight costs, delivery times, and order accuracy to suggest process improvements.

• Compliance:

  Ensure all logistics activities comply with local, state, and international shipping regulations and safety standards.

Skills & Qualifications

• Education:

  Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• Experience:

  2+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or warehouse coordination.

• Technical Proficiency:

  Hands-on experience with

  ERP systems

  (SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics) and

  Logistics Software

  (WMS or TMS).

• Analytical Skills:

  Strong ability to use Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) to analyze shipping data and costs.

• Communication:

  Excellent interpersonal skills to coordinate across departments (Sales, Finance, Warehouse).

• Adaptability:

  Ability to handle high-pressure situations and shifting priorities effectively.

Preferred Requirements (Bonus)

• Professional certification such as

  CLTD

  (Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution) or

  CSCP

  .
• Knowledge of international trade, incoterms, and customs regulations.
• Multilingual skills (useful for global logistics).
