Job Description

  • Design and develop solutions to improve customer experience and mitigate business challenges.
  • Lead, motivate people and encourage teamwork to ensure successful completion of programs/ projects.
  • Collaborate with cross functional team to understand process challenges and lead discussion to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Responsible provide technical and functional guidance and lead data analytics team.
  • Bridge Technical and Business teams to arrive at potential technical solution for global facilities.
  • Work independently on defining and testing complex programs, processes, or systems.
  • Support in the functional design, development, maintenance/administration, prioritization and/or upgrades of major system modules and programs.
  • Become fully knowledgeable of Caterpillar application infrastructure components: the current operating environment, program design and specification development, programming logic, logic diagrams, testing, debugging and documentation.
  • Analyze and model user requirements, specify information flows, processes, procedures, data objects and dialogues between information systems and their users.
  • Accountable for enhancing inbound receiving efficiency across Caterpillar s global network of manufacturing plants, logistics centers, and cross-dock facilities by ensuring compliance with enterprise standards for EDI ASN and SP20 shipping labels.
  • Leading the development and stabilization of processes from supplier shipment to facility receipt, aligning with SP20 label compliance to support the enterprise-wide "Scan to Receive" initiative.
Additional Requirements:
  • bachelors degree in Commerce/Science/Engineering or equivalent degree
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in Supply chain management, Logistics, 3PL, Warehousing, Service parts Logistics.
  • Effective oral and written communications skills required to collaborate with a wide variety of teams to achieve project deliverables.
  • Must be flexible to work in night shifts and rotational shifts to have enough overlap with global teams.

Effective Communications : Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

Data Visualization : Knowledge of principles, techniques and processes of data visualization; ability to create high quality figures effectively for various business scenarios and storytelling.
Level Working Knowledge :
Creates figures for regular data visualization tasks in an honest and compelling way. Develops or uses appropriate tools and software, such as Tableau and Data wrapper, to generate different types of data visualization. Follows established standards and procedures to obtain, aggregate and analyze data for visualization. Outputs statistical models into charts, graphs and maps to demonstrate outliers, patterns and trends of data. Employs data visualization in documents or reports to tell informative and compelling stories. Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Tools : Knowledge of electronic data interchange tools; ability to design, implement and maintain tools and facilities in order to establish a computer-to-computer interchange of electronic data among organizations.
Level Working Knowledge :
Maps EDI data within appropriate applications; develops and test new maps. Assists in the development of tools and techniques for electronic data interchange. Adheres to electronic data interchange standards, policies and guidelines. Operates main functions of electronic data interchange tools and facilities. Compares different applications for use in different electronic data interchange situations. Inventory Management - MFG: Knowledge of processes and methods of inventory management; ability to effectively manage local or distributed inventories of raw materials, work-in-progress and finished goods.
Level Working Knowledge :
Follows processes to take stock, release inventory or return into processing; resolves discrepancies. Tracks inventory information for a specific product group or location. Works with basic tasks of inventory management for a specific location. Produces basic inventory management reports for senior staff to reconcile the inventory balances. Performs the receiving, ticketing, checking in and distributing of inventory items for a specific location.
