Linux Administration

As a Server Management Administrator with 3-6 years of experience in Linux environments, your role will involve various responsibilities in server installation, maintenance, and decommissioning tasks for both physical and virtual machines. You must have proficient knowledge of Linux OS operations and experience with hypervisor operations (XEN and VMware). Additionally, expertise in LVM, DNS, LDAP, and IPTables, along with good troubleshooting skills for server downtime situations, is essential. Key Responsibilities: - Installation, maintenance, and decommissioning of servers for physical and virtual machines - Proficient knowledge of Linux OS operations and hypervisor operations (XEN and VMware) - Expertise in LVM, DNS, LDAP, and IPTables - Troubleshooting skills for server downtime situations - Delivering 3rd level technical support in accordance with customer SLAs - Daily compute operations, including events, incidents, service requests, change requests, and root cause analysis following ITIL processes - Handling server operations, monitoring, decommissioning, special configurations, storage operations, package/repository management, and OS image maintenance - Patch management using BladeLogic Automation, server-related monitoring/alert configuration, performance testing, and analysis - Involvement in root cause analysis for customer incidents, service/task documentation, testing, quality management, and knowledge transfer - Supporting 2nd level technical support in complex tasks and participating in an OnCall setup as needed Qualifications Required: - 3-6 years of experience in Server Management Administration in Linux environments - Proficient knowledge of Linux OS operations and experience with XEN and VMware hypervisor operations - Expertise in LVM, DNS, LDAP, and IPTables - Associate-level knowledge in AWS, Azure, or GCP is beneficial - Basic familiarity with automation tools and scripting languages - Knowledge or experience in using GitHub and Jira is advantageous If you have any questions regarding the job description, you can reach out to the Recruiter named Santhosh Koyada at santhosh.koyada@bs.nttdata.com.
