We are looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable Librarian to join our academic support team.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee daily library operations, ensuring smooth functioning of circulation, reference, and resource management services.
• Catalog, classify, and maintain books, journals, digital resources, and other learning materials according to standard library systems (Dewey Decimal Classification, MARC, etc.).
• Assist students, faculty, and staff in locating and utilizing library resources effectively.
• Maintain and update the library management software (LMS) and ensure accurate data entry and reporting.
• Plan and organize library activities, workshops, and orientation programs for students.
• Monitor book acquisition, vendor communication, and procurement of new resources based on academic requirements.
• Ensure proper maintenance, repair, and physical arrangement of all library materials.
• Develop and implement library policies, procedures, and best practices in alignment with university standards.
• Promote digital literacy and support users with online databases, e-resources, and remote access systems.
• Supervise library assistants and support staff, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
• Maintain records of library usage, budgets, and inventories and generate periodic reports for the management.
• Ensure a quiet, safe, and conducive study environment for all users.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Library & Information Science (B.Lib/MLISc) from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 1–3 years of experience working in an academic or university library (freshers with strong skills may also be considered).
• Knowledge of library classification systems, digital cataloguing, and library management software.
• Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• Good understanding of e-resources, digital databases, and modern library technologies.
• Ability to guide students politely and maintain discipline within the library premises.
