We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Librarian

Key Responsibilities:

• Library Management:

  Oversee day-to-day operations of the library, including acquisition, cataloging, and circulation of books, journals, e-books, and other educational resources related to optometry and visual sciences.

• Research Assistance:

  Assist students, faculty, and researchers in accessing relevant literature, journals, and research papers in the fields of optometry, visual sciences, and related healthcare disciplines.

• Collection Development:

  Curate and update the library's collection to support curriculum needs and research advancements, ensuring access to the latest materials in optometry and visual health.

• Technology Integration:

  Utilize library management software and databases to maintain efficient cataloging, searching, and reporting systems.

• Educational Support:

  Conduct library orientation sessions, information literacy workshops, and help students and faculty navigate various research tools and resources.

• Collaboration:

  Collaborate with academic departments to ensure that the library’s resources align with curriculum developments and academic needs.

Qualifications:

• Educational Background:

  A Master’s degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) or equivalent qualification. Specialization in health sciences or related fields is a plus.

• Experience:

  Minimum of 1 years of experience in a library, preferably in a higher education or healthcare setting.

• Technical Skills:

  Proficiency with library management software and a strong understanding of digital databases and electronic resources.

• Knowledge:

  Familiarity with optometry, visual sciences, and healthcare literature is preferred.

• Skills:

  Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
