A. Library & Collection Management
● Curate, catalogue, and maintain print, digital, and multimedia resources as per CBSE
norms.
● Build an age-appropriate, diverse, and continuously updated collection aligned with
school curriculum.
● Manage OPAC, e-resources, journal subscriptions, and digital repositories.
● Ensure inventory accuracy, annual stock verification, and vendor coordination.
B. Academic & Instructional Support
● Conduct research skill workshops for students of Grades I–XII.
● Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources into lesson plans.
● Teach information literacy, bibliographic skills, referencing, and citation formats.
● Support project-based learning, ATL projects, and subject exhibitions.
C. Literacy Development & Reading Culture
● Lead whole-school reading programs such as:
○ DEAR / SSR / Reading programs
○ Monthly / Annual Reading Challenges- (Bribooks / Super Reader Award)
○ Author interactions
○ Book Week
○ Genre-based reading clubs - Reader’s Club
● Promote inclusive literacy for diverse learning needs.
D. Digital & ICT Integration
● Manage digital content platforms, e-libraries, and online learning tools.
● Train students and teachers on safe digital behaviour and research ethics.
● Support blended learning through curated digital resources.
E. Administrative & Compliance Responsibilities
● Implement CBSE/NEP–2020 guidelines for school libraries.
● Maintain records, circulation statistics, and audit documentation.
● Ensure discipline, safety, and a conducive academic environment.
● Prepare annual library budget proposals and development plans.
F. Student Engagement & Enrichment
● Organize workshops on creativity, storytelling, media literacy, and leadership through
reading.
● Conduct remedial reading and foundation literacy sessions where needed.
● Mentor student library prefects and reading ambassadors.
G. Professional Development & School Representation
● Attend educational/literacy conferences and training.
● Present innovative practices at national/international forums.
● Represent the school in competitions, exhibitions, and collaborations with external
agencies.
