Position Overview:We are seeking a Legal Manager - Indirect Tax to provide expert legal advisory on both indirect and direct tax matters. In this role, you will handle tax-related litigation, support business development efforts, and contribute to the firm’s continued success by managing client relationships and offering comprehensive tax advice. If you have a strong background in GST, VAT, Customs, Excise, and Direct Tax laws, this role offers a unique opportunity for growth and impact.Key Responsibilities:Legal Advisory & Transaction Support: Provide advice on indirect and direct tax matters and assist with structuring tax-efficient transactions.Research & Drafting: Conduct legal research and draft documents such as appeals, writ petitions, Show Cause Notices (SCNs), and formal replies to tax authorities.Litigation & Representation: Represent clients before tax authorities and courts, ensuring favorable outcomes in tax disputes.Business Development: Identify opportunities with existing and potential clients to grow the firm’s tax advisory services.Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, ensuring they are always informed about legal and tax developments.Internal Collaboration: Collaborate with compliance teams and partners to provide holistic solutions to client challenges. Skills & Qualifications:Education: LLB (Law Degree). Additional certifications in tax laws (e.g., GST certification) are a plus.Experience: 5+ years of experience in indirect tax law, specifically GST, VAT, Customs, Excise, and Direct Tax.Skills: Strong research, drafting, and client management skills. Proven experience in litigation and business advisory.Other Requirements: Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
