Job Description

Job Title: Legal Manager Land Aggregation

Department: Legal & Compliance

Location: Alwarpet-Chennai

Reporting To: Head – Legal / Director – Land Acquisition/MD

JOB SUMMARY:

Legal Manager – Land Aggregation

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct

    legal due diligence

    of land parcels including verification of title deeds, revenue records, and encumbrance certificates.
  • Handle

    land aggregation and acquisition processes

    end-to-end, including negotiations, agreements, and registrations.
  • Draft, review, and vet

    agreements

    such as Sale Deeds, Lease Deeds, Power of Attorney, Development Agreements, Joint Venture Agreements, and MOUs.
  • Coordinate with

    surveyors, revenue officials, registration departments, and local authorities

    for obtaining clearances and approvals.
  • Ensure

    compliance with applicable laws

    such as RERA, Land Revenue Acts, Registration Act, and Stamp Duty laws.
  • Liaise with

    DTCP, RERA, and other statutory bodies

    for necessary project-related legal approvals.
  • Maintain

    comprehensive legal documentation

    and update the land bank MIS.
  • Support management with

    legal opinions, reports, and risk assessments

    for land transactions.
  • Manage and coordinate with external legal counsels on litigation, arbitration, or regulatory matters.
  • Provide

    legal guidance

    to the business development and project execution teams.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • LLB / BL / LLM

    from a recognized university.
  • 3–12 years

    of experience in

    real estate, infrastructure, or industrial land acquisition/legal management

    .
  • Strong knowledge of

    state-specific land laws

    and

    property registration procedures

    .
  • Experience handling

    large-scale land aggregation projects

    preferred.
