Legal Counsel

As a Legal Counsel at OSTTRA India, you will be an integral part of the Legal Department, reporting directly to the General Counsel of EMEA and APAC. Our team is trusted and dynamic, working closely with the business to drive maximum results. Together, we support, protect, and manage high-performance platforms that process over 100 million messages daily, playing a vital role in automated trade processing globally. Based in Gurgaon, India, your primary responsibilities will include managing, drafting, and negotiating various commercial contracts, supporting sales teams globally, and providing innovative business solutions. You will develop expertise in areas such as intellectual property, privacy, and data protection to counsel internal clients on legal risks throughout customer relationships. Additionally, you will analyze and evaluate product and client initiatives to identify and address potential business and legal risks. Your role will involve assisting with projects related to post-trade services, company secretarial support, and liaising with various departments within OSTTRA such as IT, Tax, Compliance, Finance, Risk, and Operations. As a key member of a global team, you will engage and manage outside counsel, collaborate with legal colleagues across multiple regions, including the UK, US, Singapore, Sweden, and Israel. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, be a qualified lawyer with 3 to 6 years of in-house or large law firm experience, and possess excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken. If you have experience in negotiating commercial contracts, data protection, and commercial matters, along with knowledge of intellectual property and commercial contract law, this role is an excellent fit for you. Additionally, familiarity with technology or financial services companies and the ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously will be valuable assets in this position.
