Role Description We are seeking a highly skilled Platform Engineer who will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, performance, and optimization of various IT platforms across the enterprise. This role demands a seasoned professional capable of exercising discretion and independent judgment while collaborating with users and IT teams to design, analyse, configure, administer, and support infrastructure systems. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical knowledge across Microsoft, Linux/Unix, VMware, Citrix and Cloud environments (AWS/GCP), and will focus on supporting store back-office systems integrated with Point of Sale (POS) systems. Primary Responsibilities Design, implement, configure, and maintain enterprise platform infrastructure including Microsoft, Linux, Unix, VMware, Citrix, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP). Administer, troubleshoot, and optimize platform environments to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of business-critical applications. Provide end-to-end support for store systems, particularly the back-office environments integrated with Point-of-Sale systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute system architecture, integration, testing, deployment, and documentation efforts. Act as a technical advisor for platform-related decisions and provide mentoring to junior engineers. Participate in the development of standards, procedures, and guidelines to maintain a stable and secure infrastructure. Perform proactive system monitoring, capacity planning, and performance tuning. Lead and contribute to disaster recovery planning, testing, and implementation activities. Required Skills Experience in platform engineering or infrastructure support roles. Expertise in Windows and Linux/Unix system administration. Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, Citrix). Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and/or GCP. In-depth understanding of enterprise networking, storage systems, and security principles. Experience with store systems or POS integration is a strong plus. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
